I have loved ❤️teaching for a long time…
Since I taught GiGi, my handmade Cabbage Patch Doll (I never had a real one… but it was so much better) …who knows what I babbled on and on about to her when I was little!
I was most excited about being in charge of school supplies (aren’t we all!) when I became a teacher.😂😂
I remember walking into my first classroom in 2003 thinking how crazy it was that I got to make all the decisions in this room.
To be honest, while it’s totally not on the same scale, I had the same feeling I had the night I took home my daughter… I was thinking holy crap.. how can I be in charge of this?
So naive when I began teaching! You think it’s going to be ALL sunshine and rainbows… I mean I was teaching first grade… why would it not!?
But… where there are people… there are
✨opinions
✨mistakes
✨bad days
✨really bad days
✨good days
✨really good days
✨I didn’t see that coming days
✨sad days
✨happy days
✨changes
✨there is growth.
So that perfect bubble you believe you are stepping into when becoming an educator, popped the minute you became an educator.
When you realize it never existed, you begin to become the educator you are meant to become or not become for some.
Today, I want you to know these things
❤️I still believe education can be AMAZING… it’s not there.
❤️I believe the only ones that will make education better than ever ARE the teachers.
❤️I know teachers need to be listened to more.
❤️I believe teachers need to listen more to each other.
❤️ I believe every kid deserves their own best education. The one that fits them just right.
❤️I believe our students’ parents and care takers are responsible for making education great, too.
❤️ And… I believe there are so many ways to get there, but it will take many strong, brave, and not afraid to say something while also willing to listen..educators.
